One of our suppliers approached us early in 2009 and showed us a new material for “wrapping” walls. We tried it out on a few internal jobs, before accepting it for public use. True to their word the new digital printing vinyl, did adhere to and “wrap” brickwork. This meant that a job that was previously requiring a traditional signwriter, could now be modernised.

Below is a close up of the vinyl applied to the breeze blocks. As you can see all the rough texture of the block is visable as the material has taken to the surface of the block. Smart Fitness’s wall had been painted dark grey, but the wrap will adhere to bare bricks too.

The fascia below was constructed form an aluminium tray sign which was powder coated silver. As you can see from the photo below the fascia bent around an angle. We took this into consideration when fabricating and there is no obvious join.

The KD logo was fabricated from Polished stainless steel with a bevelled face. 

That would have been enough to make us and the custome rvery happy, but as an added feature the KD logo was halo lit with blue LEDs.

Here is a close up of just the halo lighting. As you can see there is no “spotting”. I certain conditions LED light can produce spots of light on the reflecting surface, but when installed correctly there should be no sign of spotting.

We were asked to create the new signage. The main project consisted of vinyl graphics and built up fabricated lettering. Other smaller projects on this site included safety manafestation and privacy film on glass.

The most important role of most signs is being informative and attractive.

As part of the redevelopments at Blyth beach, Blyth Valley Council designed an energy efficient amenity building. The building will be for the community and become a new base for the lifeguards.

The signage we created was to help informand guide visitors to the relavant sections. The powder coated, built up symbols and letters we used were to identify the public toilets, information kiosk and teh entrance into the building.

Other signage we developed was anti vandal information signs.

This sign below is located at RADAR Toilet facility. Other signs of this type at this building explained the solar heating system for the external showers .

Jump recently moved their childrens shoe shop into a larger unit on Gosforth High Street. As we had been involved with their previous signage, it enabled us to keep their branding uniform through out the move.

This shop fascia sign was created from a Digitally printed repeating pattern to form the background. To which we mounted a cut out plastic logo panel to the centre.

We also added a simple projecting sign to catch more attention to passing traffic.

King Design approached us with a concept for creating two feature walls in their new office at Cramlington.

Polished stainless steel lettering on a flat coloured background. The “‘king” part was 900mm high letters with a 75mm return built onto the rear. All the fixings were hidden behind the lettering to create a flush finish. All the other lettering was flat cut out of polished stainless steel.

As you can see from this photo below the sign was created from a fabricated aluminium tray sign. The letters were flat cut out of Silver aluminium sheet and mounted on stand off locators.

To emphasise their High Street presence Bowens requested a projecting illuminated sign. The box below was finished in matt black, with matt black relief panel, which allowed for silver lettering to be illuminated at night.

With a background of traditional signwriting, hand painting onto rendered walls are quite a common request from our customers.

Barratt Homes new building in Scotswood

Barratt Homes in Newcastle asked us to help brand their new office. We suggested that they had built up fabricated letters. The option of being built up, gives the sign an extra dimension.
